23 September 2017

According to Indian Express, the humidity level in the city was recorded at 78 per cent earlier in the day.

"The skies will remain partly cloudy throughout the day".

"More rains are expected later in the day".

This fresh spell of rains can be attributed to the well-marked low pressure area prevailing over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas.

The maximum temperature was yesterday recorded at 35.8 degrees, one notch above normal, while the minimum settled at 24.8 degrees, normal for the season.

Heavy showers were also reported which led to snarls on major roads around South Delhi, DND, RTR flyover towards airport, Outer Ring Road, Lutyens', and central Delhi due to waterlogging, non-functional traffic lights, and fallen tree branches. The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 29 degree Celsius today, while the minimum was recorded at 26.5 degrees, two notches above normal.

As per the IMD predictions, moderate to heavy rains are likely to lash Delhi NCR for the next 48 hours.

In addition to this, a fresh western disturbance is also affecting Jammu and Kashmir and neighbouring areas, which will further enhance the rain activity. And the police department has told that 'The city police did not consider alerting the people about the traffic congestion till the time of filing this report due to heavy rain and choked drains in the national capital. Many posted on social media complaining about the situation.
