Yaya Toure's agent, Dimitry Seluk has dismissed claims that the Manchester City midfielder is yet to make a competitive apperance this season for "sporting reasons". He was not in the City squad that beat Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola refuses to confirm whether Yaya Toure will be a part of Manchester City's squad against Watford, having yet to use the Ivorian this season.

Saturday's game is expected to arrive too soon for the defender but he could be in contention for Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash at West Brom.

Spaniard Guardiola said on Friday: "I admire him". He is an exceptional player.

Following the acrimonious departure of Sancho, who was earmarked as one of the club's three most promising Under-19 players alongside Brahim and Phil Foden, Guardiola says the Blues will continue to do "absolutely everything" to keep their best youngsters, even if in the end the decision rests with the players themselves. In the League and Champions League there are a lot of games.

Th former Barcelona and Bayern Munich gaffer expressed satisfaction in his team's improvement in the attacking third. 'He was so important last season. "Every three days until the next global break - there are many, many games to play. They help our strikers".

Pep Guardiola revealed Vincent Kompany is back in training ahead of City's trip to Watford.
