Frank Vincent Dies: 'Sopranos' & 'Goodfellas' Actor Was 78

Frank Vincent, who was known for his roles in "The Sopranos", "Raging Bull", "Casino", "Shark Tale" and "Last Exit to Brooklyn", has passed away at 78.

According to reports, Mr. Vincent died of complications following heart surgery.

Vincent's biggest role was as ruthless mafia boss Phil Leotardo in "The Sopranos", the main antagonist of Tony Soprano (the late James Gandolfini) in the final season. "He had a job to do and he thought, you know, 'This Soprano guy is from Jersey, what does that mean?"

The news was shared by his co-star Vincent Pastore, who sent an email to friends with the sad announcement.

Among his many credits, Vincent appeared in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing and Jungle Fever and played a detective in the 2008 indie The Tested.
